A busy end to the week

A busy end to the week

My week continued extremely busy.   I feel like I never ever stop.   People always comment to me that they don't know how I am able to maintain my blogging and shooting schedule.  I find that the busier I am the more I am able to accomplish.   I think the same is true in work and life.  If I had all day to write a blog post it would take me 8 hours as I would distract myself with a million little things.   Because I am so busy I need to compartmentalize my my life.   This morning for example I gave myself 1.5 hours to go through my series of images, process, keyword, upload, tag and write my blog post.   I will probably be able to get through it in a little over an hour.   The same goes for my Japanese study and other things I need to fit into my life around my relentless work schedule and family commitments. 'You read your paper and I'll read mine and we'll have no issues...'

I love all of these little eating and drinking places around my office.  I need to make sure to try more of them in the new year...

I tend to shoot early morning or late night so I have never really gotten a chance to get out and shot the changing leaves.  I'll need to make a trip to Kyoto one year...

I was lucky enough to catch up with my friend Koji for dinner.   We get together every few months for dinner.    We met up at a small Spanish place in Ebisu.  I think I have a pretty unique set of friends and I am lucky to have Koji as one of them.  Koji has left a professional legacy in his path that one can only hope to.   Hopefully one day I'll win an Emmy...

Now this I love.   My train line has a 'Metro Mission'.   This is why customer service is so fantastic in Japan.  I posted this on Facebook earlier in the week and someone made the very funny observation that Gaijin and Octopus are depicted in the same role...  Too funny.

I caught up with my good friend (and customer) Bernie for lunch one day.   It has been a while since we caught up so it was great to spend time with him again.    Bernie is one of the first business connections I made in Tokyo and long time friend now.   We have played the role of each others customers a few times over the years.   It is always fantastic to catch up with Bernie and talk about life and business.

Kimutaku... He is one of the singers of the very famous band SMAP!    He was my neighbor when I first got married.   I used to joke with my wife that his beautiful wife Shizuka Kudo was always hitting on me or in love with me.   I was actually wasn't joking.  She really loves me now I just need to figure out how to get boy band rock star out of the way...

I had an MRI the other day (nothing serious).  I enjoyed the check list of things I can't bring in with me; a phone from the 1990s, mascara, a pedometer, my teeth, a bra...

My favorite communist again... This guy pops up everywhere.   I don't know exactly what the message is here but it will say 'Stop <insert topic>' (end of message).   Alternatives aren't really necessary.  It is just easier to oppose whatever the other guy is doing...

With the help of my friend Alex Leonard I now have a search bar for ShootTokyo up top in the menu.  Enjoy and search on!   Now I am sitting at Haneda catching a red eye flight to Singapore.  Time to start another busy week.  Thanks for stopping by today...
